Solar collector is the core component of solar pool heating project, its performance is directly related to the efficient and reliable operation of the system. At present, there are four kinds of solar collectors in the market:
Flat plate collector
Advantages: it has the advantages of fast heat collection, low price, high pressure bearing, good thermal shock resistance, etc
Insufficient: the collector has low operating temperature, is not frost resistant, and is not suitable for use in all seasons
All glass vacuum tubular collector
It has high thermal efficiency, high cost, frost resistance, and night heat preservation performance between flat plate collector and heat pipe collector. It has low pressure bearing capacity and poor heat shock resistance. When cold water is injected into the system after air drying, it is possible to burst the vacuum pipe. The whole system needs to be stopped for repair when one pipe breaks, and the system reliability is poor
Heat pipe vacuum tubular collector
The heat pipe vacuum tube collector has the highest thermal efficiency and the highest price among them, but it has the advantages of high pressure bearing capacity, good heat shock resistance, freeze resistance and high system reliability
DC vacuum tubular collector
Besides all the advantages of the heat pipe vacuum tube collector, it also has higher thermal efficiency and can be installed at any angle. Its price is also higher than that of the heat pipe vacuum tube collector
Material selection and positioning of collector:
Material selection of collector: the materials in contact with the pool water in the collector shall neither pollute the water nor be corroded. Except for chromium nickel steel, other metals shall not be used for parts of the system in contact with pool water. Moreover, not all grades of stainless steel can resist corrosion in these applications. 316 grade stainless steel is recommended.
All materials used to make the collector must be able to withstand the stagnation temperature generated in the collector.
Collector installation: first, determine the installation location of the collector plate. If there is no suitable place or the installation location is too high, the project advantages will be greatly reduced, because too high installation location means the increase of cost and cost.
If the right place is selected, the beautification requirements can be met. On the installation, the determination of the orientation and inclination of the collector is similar to the design of the common hot water system.
In the windy place, the collector without glass cover plate is particularly vulnerable to the influence of wind and heat loss occurs, so it should be considered to increase the collector area or preset the wind wall. Windbreaks also help reduce the heat loss on the pool surface.
