Non pressure compact solar heating with vacuum tubes have a high efficiency, due to the ability to capture diffuse radiation. Thus, unlike other types of construction, vacuum tubes can operate with increased efficiency even when solar radiation is not maximum or during periods of lower outside temperatures.

The collector is composed of several tubes, e.g. 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 vacuum tubes. The vacuum in the glass tubes ensures an efficient thermal insulation; convection losses between the glass tubes and the collector are avoided. Thus, a reduced (diffuse) radiation can be used.
